Merry Street

TGP were appointed as lead designers and contract administrators for public realm, art work and signage improvements in Motherwell Town Centre. TGP’s involvement in this regeneration began with the production of Streetscape Design framework which drew up a strategy for the regeneration of the town centre. Merry Street was to be regenerated so as to enhance the desirability of Motherwell as a shopping and business destination. The street was reconfigured to reduce vehicular and pedestrian congestion. The design proposals included the introduction of granite paving, street trees, signage, coordinated street furniture and bespoke stained glass and steel panels inspired by the town’s steelwork heritage.
