Proposed Street Visualisation

The proposed designs for Gibraltar Street aim to deliver a high-quality public realm scheme, drawing on the gateway location to enhance the street environment for the local needs of retailers and visitors/ users, to make the area more welcoming and accessible, whilst improving permeability and circulation.

Option 1 creates a new organic path layout, enhancing existing desire line from Tesco to the town centre, with new stepped amphitheatre feature, paved terraces for the retailers with information/waymarking totem features.  Option 2 also creates a new organic path layout, enhancing existing desire line from Tesco to the town centre, with more pronounced curve layout applied to the amphitheatre feature. The paved terraces for the retailers to have fixed seating with central path alignment defined by new bollard lighting.
