TGP were appointed by Hub South West / South Ayr Council in July 2020 as part of the design team on the Ayr Leisure Centre project, which includes the Council’s Town Centre Strategy – a communal vision to enhance the town’s existing Leisure & Recreation, Cultural and Educational facilities. The landscape masterplan seeks to contribute to a high-quality development that meets the needs and aspirations of the leisure centre users, local residents and visitors, and simultaneously impacts positively to urban fabric and the surrounding streetscape experience. The aim of the landscape design is to create public realm features to create a unique urban destination that accommodates recreation and relaxation, providing a landscape design framework that will ensure an integrated approach to amenity, connectivity, biodiversity, ecology and drainage.
