Swansea Green Energy Park
TGP Landscape Architects continue to assist Statkraft in their applications for the Swansea (GGP) and further Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) extension, providing Landscape Planning services in appraisal and landscape mitigation proposals.
The GGP development will increase the stability of the National Grid and the amount of renewable energy being delivered to the grid from within the Swansea area.
Currently under construction adjacent to the Swansea North Substation and Felindre Gas Compressor Station, the GGP site is perfectly located within a landscape which supports energy generation and transmission infrastructure. The newly consented BESS extension would provide vital storage of locally generated energy, connecting into the existing substation.
By transforming this site positively for renewable energy transmission and storage, TGP’s Landscape Proposals complement the scheme and add further landscape mitigation and biodiversity enhancement through considered planting and maintenance.
