Burrowine Moor Quarry
TGP were commissioned to prepare the LVIA aligned to the Review of Old Mineral Permissions (ROMP) application for the operational Burrowine Moor Quarry located north of Devilla Forest, Fife.
The LVIA considered the effects that will arise as a result of the ongoing permitted extraction activities and proposed final restoration. This process was informed by the progressive, phased manner of the extraction works within the Site, and the phased restoration of completed phases, prior to the full and final Site restoration.
As part of the ROMP application, the landscape mitigation measures were reviewed and updated to include additional advanced woodland planting along parts of the Site perimeter. TGP also prepared details for the proposed nature ponds within the restored quarry floor, that will provide long-term marginal / aquatic habitat alongside areas of mixed woodland, scrub and wildflower meadow habitat.
