Constantine College
TGP was appointed to complete the landscape design for the new Constantine College within the Heslington East Campus following our work on the Campus landscape setting.

Project approach and deliverables:
- Maintaining the formal character of the pedestrian ribbon.
- Use of formal landscape components, specimen trees and shrub planting to provide shelter from prevailing westerlies (and Spring easterlies).
- Featuring urban character around the central plaza to the nucleus.
- Linking the College to the wider University green network.
- Incorporation of a large volume of swales to take water to the new lake, i.e. positive SUDS design utilising informal landform and naturalistic planting.
- Use of dedicated growing areas incorporating herb beds.
- Extensive use of willow and wetland species associated with swales.
- Use of naturalistic grasses, wildflower meadows and groundcover species.
