The new Linwood Special Needs School was an amalgamation of 3 local schools catering for pupils with mental and physical handicaps of all ages from babies to 18 year olds. TGP were commissioned to design school grounds to enable pupils to use the external spaces for learning and playing. The design included a series of courtyards and spaces to facilitate external play by different age. There were also distinct areas for children with complex needs and children who require intensive support. The facilities included external libraries, outdoor classrooms, amphitheatre and performance area, sensory garden, eco garden and various fixed play equipment and furniture for the various age groups.
