TGP are delighted to have been appointed as part of the design team on the Glasgow City Centre Avenues Project, which has been awarded funding through Glasgow City Region City Deal. The project is being led by Civic Engineers, and TGP will also be working closely with Urban Movement, a London-based urban design to take the scheme from concept design and public consultation through to developed design stage. The project gets underway this month starting with Argyle St and it is planned to be completed in 2022.
Garnock Academy picks up a commendation at GIA
TGP are delighted to have been part of the design build team for Garnock Academy which picked up a commendation in the Education category at the GIA (Glasgow Institute of Architects) Awards last Friday. Well done to JM architects and Kier Construction. The judges comments on the building were: “A bold and confident architectural composition with a very clear plan. The main entrance was impressive and the main public spaces flowed together successfully, the teaching spaces well considered and the confident detailing and control of the internal exposed services aesthetic was impressive. This building provides a bold and inspirational place to learn.

£2.3 million Lottery Funding for Hirst Park
TGP’s Newcastle Office is delighted to have helped Northumberland County Council secure £2.3 million of Lottery Funding for Hirst Park in Ashington, the local park where footballing legends Sir Bobby Charlton and Jack Charlton OBE began their illustrious careers before becoming 1966 World Cup Champions. Hirst Park was built in 1915 to provide much-needed green space for a rapidly expanding mining population. Now the project, led by Northumberland County Council, will enable it to continue its 100-year role at the heart of the community. As well as inspiring the next generation of footballers, people will benefit from a new horticultural training centre, water splash zone and performance space. A Growing Zone including therapeutic gardening will provide valuable wellbeing activities and contribute to the long-term maintenance of the park.
