English Heritage, Scarborough Borough Council, Strickland Constable Estate. The company was appointed to provide specialist landscape architectural services in connection with the Scheduled Ancient Monument and expansion of the Abbey grounds and visitor experience. The landscape proposals have been designed to maintain the broad, open landscape character of the Headland and the Abbey Grounds and to ensure that a robust circulation system enables the visitor to experience the Headland, the spirit of place and the complex historical layering. Historical research was undertaken in connection with the abbey grounds, gardens and the Cholmley family and formed the basis for re-establishment of the 17th Century entrance courts to the Banqueting House now a new interpretation centre.
