Roundhay Park Roundhay Park

Roundhay Park

Roundhay Park is one of Leeds City Council’s major urban parks, once embracing 700 acres and originally established as a Deer Park in the 12th century. The main historic interest centres on the extensive works carried out in the late 19th century by John Nicholson. TGP (then Casella) acted as sub-consultant landscape architects to Purcell Miller Tritton and oversaw the implementation of the Stage 3 work of this £8m restoration project funded through the HLF Public Parks Initiative. The works included restoration and conservation of the Pleasure Grounds, Canal Gardens, Middle Walk Avenue from the Mansion House, Barran’s Fountain, lakeside car park and play area.
